Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving, Black Friday. The month of November is a busy time for everyone. With the holidays just around the corner it is important to take the time to plan out your salon’s marketing and promotional events. November is also known as Movember. What is Movember? I’m glad you asked! Movember is an annual event to help promote men’s health. The goal of Movember is to change the face of men’s health by encouraging the growth of mustaches. Offer your male clients a “Shave the Date” event at the beginning (for the men to start with a clean slate) and at the end of the month (for the men to start the holidays with a cleanly shaven face). This is also a good month to showcase some of your men’s products that you have in stock or offer special discounts for men’s haircuts. As you know Veteran’s Day is November 11th. There are numerous ways to honor veterans and active duty military personnel. You could offer a special discount on certain products or a free haircut/service. Veteran's Day specials are a good way to honor and thank your clients for serving. Partner with a local charity or food bank to help give back to your community. You could offer a special that allows customers to pay for a small service with canned food or non-perishable items. Decorate your salon with fall-inspired décor. Allow your clients to help do the decorating. Print off pumpkins, turkeys, or other fall items that clients can purchase and put their names on (like the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation tennis shoes). Hang them in your front window or anywhere in the salon. Not only will this help decorate your salon but you will also be donating to a worthy cause. Black Friday. One of the biggest shopping days of the year. Craft a simple promotion like “Purchase a $100 gift card for a friend or family member, get your own $25 gift card.” The client will feel rewarded with the gift card and it’s something for them to take away. The next time they come into your salon or spa, they’ll likely apply that $25 gift card towards a service or product that’s $75 or higher. Your salon is gaining two guests with one initial transaction, with the original client coming back. Black Friday doesn’t just have to be about discounts and deals. Offer loyal clients who are in your spa or salon on Black Friday a complimentary gift. It’s a great way to say thank you and show they are appreciated.
If you haven’t done so already set up a photo booth that allows clients to showcase their new cuts or colors. Add fun props and backgrounds that can be switched out with the season. Ask your clients to post their pictures tagging your salon and using your hashtag.
These are just a few ideas that you can use in your salon. Don’t forget to post on social media letting your current and future clients know of any special or deals. If you haven’t started thinking about your salon’s holiday promotion ideas, now is the time to start.
